Client and Member Code of Conduct


1. Purpose


Totem Training and Performance (“Totem”) is committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for all individuals who access our facilities and services. This Code of Conduct sets the expectations and standards of behavior required of every client, member, visitor, and guest (“you”). Your cooperation is essential in creating a positive experience for all.


2. Scope


This Code applies to:

• All Totem locations, including workout areas, treatment rooms, offices, locker rooms, common areas, and parking lots.

• Any Totem-sponsored events, classes, or functions on or off premises.

• Any communication with Totem staff or other clients/members, including in person, by phone, email, text, or social media.


3. General Conduct Expectations


You agree to:

• Treat all staff, trainers, therapists, other clients, and members with courtesy and respect.

• Follow all posted facility rules, signage, and staff instructions.

• Use equipment, facilities, and amenities safely and responsibly.

• Refrain from any conduct that disrupts the operations of the gym or the experience of others.


4. Prohibited Conduct


You understand that the following conduct is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or termination of access to Totem’s facilities and services without refund:


A. Harassment and Discrimination

• Verbal or physical harassment, intimidation, or threats.

• Discriminatory remarks or conduct based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.

• Offensive jokes, slurs, epithets, gestures, or displays of offensive material.


B. Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct

• Unwelcome sexual advances, flirtation, propositions, or requests for sexual favors.

• Unwanted touching of any kind, including hugging or brushing against another person.

• Leering, sexual gestures, or displaying sexually suggestive content.

• Conduct that creates a hostile, intimidating, or offensive environment.


C. Violence and Threats

• Actual or threatened physical harm toward any person.

• Aggressive or hostile behavior, including yelling, intimidation, or fighting.

• Possession of weapons or dangerous items.


D. Bullying

• Deliberate exclusion, mocking, or belittling of any individual.

• Undermining another person’s participation or comfort in the facility.


E. Inappropriate Use of Facilities

• Misuse or deliberate damage of equipment, amenities, or property.

• Failure to follow safety protocols or staff guidance.

• Unauthorized recording, photographing, or live streaming of any person without their express consent.

• Unauthorized commercial activity or solicitation.


F. Substance Use

• Being under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances on the premises.

• Smoking, vaping, or use of tobacco products inside the facility.


G. Hygiene and Attire

• Failure to maintain reasonable personal hygiene.

• Wearing clothing that is overly revealing, offensive, or unsafe.

• Not wiping down equipment after use.


5. Privacy and Confidentiality


You agree to:

• Respect the privacy and personal boundaries of all individuals.

• Keep any personal or sensitive information learned in the facility confidential.

• Refrain from sharing images, videos, or personal information of other individuals without consent.


6. Health and Safety Compliance


You agree to:

• Follow all safety instructions, posted guidelines, and applicable health regulations.

• Disclose any medical condition that may require accommodation or pose a safety risk.

• Immediately report injuries, hazards, or suspicious behavior to staff.


7. Reporting Misconduct


If you experience or witness conduct that violates this Code, you are encouraged to report it to Totem management or Human Resources promptly. Reports may be made:

• In person to any supervisor or manager.

• By email to totemtrainingandperformance@gmail.com.

• Through our online misconduct reporting form.


All reports will be taken seriously and investigated. Retaliation against anyone making a good faith report is strictly prohibited.


8. Consequences of Violations


Violations of this Code of Conduct will result in appropriate action, which may include:

• Verbal warning.

• Written warning.

• Suspension of membership or services.

• Permanent termination of membership or services.

• Referral to law enforcement if applicable.


Totem reserves the right to remove any individual from the premises immediately if conduct poses a threat to health, safety, or well-being.


9. No Refund Policy


If your membership or access is suspended or terminated for violation of this Code of Conduct, you are not entitled to a refund of any fees paid.
